Domain transfer to Rucenter when working under an administrative contract

For .SU, .NET.RU, .ORG.RU, and .PP.RU domains

A domain transfer request to RU-CENTER can be made either by the Registrant or the owner of the administrative contract. You can create a request in your profile in the “Operations → Domain Transfer” section.

For .ru and .рф TLDs, gTLDs, and ccTLDs

Registrar change for .ru and .рф TLDs, gTLDs, and ccTLDs is paid. If you work under an administrative contract, then the payment must be initiated by the owner of the administrative contract.

To pay for the Registrar Change service, the owner of the administrative contract must make an advance payment to Rucenter’s account and agree to write off funds from its Personal Account for the Registrant Change service on its profile page in the “Operations → Domain Transfer” section.

Transfer of gTLDs and ccTLDs to Rucenter under an administrative contract

  1. Registrant must:
  • check domain status using Whois service. If domain has a clientTransferProhibited status, it will be required to contact the current registrar to unlock registrar change.
  • get registry authorization code (secret code) from the current registrar.
  1. Administrative contract owner must:
  • fill in the customer form in the “Operations → Form Registration” section;
  • specify the transfer data in the “Operations → Domain Transfer → Domains .com, .net, .pro, etc.” section;
  • transfer funds to pay for the Registrar Change service.
  1. Rucenter reserves funds in the personal account of the owner of the administrative contract and sends the request to the e-mail address of the Registrant (administrative contact) specified in the Whois service (Registrant Email).
  2. The Registrant (administrative contact) must agree to transfer the domain to Rucenter by following the link from the email and providing the registry authorization code.

If no response is received within 5 days or authorization code is incorrect, Registrar change will be canceled, order deleted and the funds will be returned to the personal account of the owner of the administrative contract and may be used for payment for other services.

  1. Upon receipt of the registrant's consent, Rucenter will initiate the domain transfer process in the Registry.
  2. Current registrar may submit a request to the registrant registrar transfer confirmation.
  3. The current registrar upon obtaining consent will confirm domain transfer in the registry. Registry will transfer domain to Rucenter and notify registrars about enacted changes. Registrar change procedure takes from 7 to 10 calendar days.
  4. Upon successful completion of the registrar change, Rucenter sends notifications to the contact e-mail addresses in the administrative contract owner's contract. The domain registration term shall be increased by 1 year, while the total domain registration term may not exceed 10 (ten) years.
  5. If the change of registrar is not carried out, the funds are returned to the personal account of the owner of the administrative contract and can be used for payment of other services.

Information about the status of registrar change is available in the “Orders → Order Archive” section.

Registrar change procedure for gTLDs and ccTLDs is not carried out in the following cases:
  • 60 days have not passed from the date of registration or change of the Registrar;
  • 60 days have not passed since the last registrar change;
  • 60 days have not passed since the transfer of domain ownership or change of e-mail address of the registrant;
