EV (extended validation) certificates are considered the gold standard in SSL certificates in the global financial sector. They deliver the highest level of trust and are recommended for banks, payment systems, and online projects with a great number of transactions and heightened safety requirements. They validate domain names and organizations and can only be issued to legal entities.
EV certificates differ from other types of certificates thanks to their special browser indication — a padlock icon appears next to the company’s name and the browser address bar turns green; they are often called SSL certificates with green address bar.
EV SSL purchase is available only after a rigorous validation process. The Certification Authority carries out verification procedure to confirm the legal entity’s identifying information, its legal and operational activities, compliance of submitted information with official documents, and the company's exclusive right to use the domain name.
Extended Validation Certificates are issued within 10-14 business days.
