A domain (domain name) is the address of a website. In your browser, you will see it in the address bar:
The site address in the browser may look like https://nic.ru or https://www.nic.ru . The domain is here — nic.ru . The https:// prefix is not a domain, but a data transfer protocol designation. The www prefix is configured after registration (purchase) of the domain.
A domain consists of a unique name and a domain zone (domain), for example, nic — name, .ru — domain zone. You set the name yourself, and choose the domain zone from the existing ones.
The traditional domains are .ru, .su, .рф, .com, .net, and others.
Universal domains, suitable for websites of any subject. They have been on the market for a long time, they are familiar to users, but it is not easy to find a free beautiful name.
Foreign domains / domains of the world — .tk, .kz, .tv, .us, .bz, .eu, .cc and others.
Reflect the geographical affiliation of the site's audience. They are used not only for territorial designation, such as domain.bz is popular in the business sector, although it was introduced as a domain of the state of Belize. Or the domain .TV is a popular area for television — themed websites, owned by the State of Tuvalu in Polynesia.
Thematic domains (New gTLDs) — .online, .club, .shop, .xyz, .me, .top and others.
New gTLD domains were created to designate fields of activity: hobbies, business, entertainment, education. Their advantage is that they allow you to reflect the business theme directly in the name of the website. Domains have become available for registration recently, so many beautiful addresses are still free.
Premium domains
Available in different domain zones: .com, .net, .org, .tv. and others. They are in high demand, as they consist of frequently used, euphonious words, are perfectly remembered and provide the site with high positions in search engine results. The cost of registering and renewing such domains may be higher compared to standard domains.
We have tried to make the domain selection process on our site fast and convenient. To do this, we grouped the domains by thematic categories, added a list of all domain zones in alphabetical order (there are more than 700 of them) and set up a self-learning algorithm that will offer you domains based on current trends.
The domain name must not infringe on the rights of other individuals and companies. Try not to register domains that match the names of companies and brands that do not belong to you.
The domain administrator (owner) is a natural or legal person. He is responsible for the domain and for the content published on the website.
1. Choosing a domain
On the Domain Registration page, enter the domain name in the line. You can only specify the name if you have not yet selected a domain zone (as in the picture below). Only letters, numbers, and hyphens can be used in the name. Click the Search button.
A list of free domains with the name you specified will appear on the page.
The Recommended block displays domains selected by the recommendation system based on user preferences and general trends.
Some domains have tags:
— the meaning of the domain zone, registration features.
— discount on domain registration, valid for a limited time.
— beautiful domains are easy to remember, so they are more expensive.
— the service is a gift when registering a domain.
— The domain is occupied and is being sold in the Rucenter Store by the current administrator.
For the convenience of selection, you can use additional tools:
The Recommended section lists the thematic categories. Click on the category you are interested in to see a list of free domains with your name.
The Domain Zones filter allows you to check the occupancy of a domain name in specific zones. All domain zones are listed here in alphabetical order. Mark the ones you are interested in and click Apply.
The Show not free domains filter includes domain names in the list of results that exactly match the query, but are not available for registration.
The Whois service will show information about the domain:

To register domains in international, foreign zones, and New gTLD domains, you will need contact information that will be displayed in the public Whois service. This is a requirement of the international organization ICANN, which coordinates the Internet domain name system. ICANN blocks domains with invalid or incomplete contact information. By default, the Whois Privacy Protection service is included in the order, which allows you to hide the data from viewing in Whois. If you want to leave the contact information open, click Turn Off, and the service will be removed from the order.
Click Continue.
On the page you will see your order and its cost. The order includes the Liability insurance "Trade mark" service, which covers the cost of protection in the event of a court proceeding. You can remove it from the order if it is not needed at the moment.
Click Go to payment.
Information about the order will appear in the Orders section. If the order has not been paid yet, you will see it in the Order priority section. Completed orders are found in the Order archive section.
