What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is an additional confirmation of entering the Rucenter account in any way: by SMS or through a mobile application. This significantly increases the security of the account and prevents it from being hacked.

How to enable two-factor authentication for an account in Rucenter?

To enable two-factor authentication:

Step 1: log in to your account and go to the section "Account → Security settings → Two-factor authentication";

Step 2: set up one or both two-factor authentication methods: when trying to access your account, you will be able to choose your preferred method for receiving the confirmation code.

After setting up and confirming at least one confirmation method, two-factor authentication will be enabled for your account automatically.

Two-factor authentication can be set up for both administrative and technical passwords.

How to set up sending a confirmation code via SMS?

Step 1: log in to your account;

Step 2: go to the section "Account → Security settings → Two-factor authentication" and select the login confirmation method "By SMS";

Step 3: specify the mobile phone number* to which you want to receive confirmation codes;

Step 4: enter the confirmation code in the "Phone verification" step.

* Available only for Russian phone numbers in the format +7ХХХХХХХХХ.

How to set up receiving a confirmation code in a mobile app?

You can set up receiving confirmation codes in the Yandex.Key mobile app.

Step 1: log in to your account;

Step 2: go to the "Account → Security settings → Two-factor authentication" section and select the Yandex.Key app as the login confirmation method;

Step 3: launch the app and scan the QR code from the screen via the mobile app. You can also specify the setup key manually. The setup key is displayed under the QR code;

Step 4: enter the code that will be displayed in the mobile app to confirm account ownership.

If the mobile app is not installed, you can install it by going to the appropriate app store via the link on the page.

How to disable two-factor authentication for an account in Rucenter?

If you have access to your Rucenter account and to the device to which confirmation codes are sent:

Step 1: log in to your personal account;

Step 2: go to the "Account → Security settings → Two-factor authentication" section;

Step 3: select "Disable" in the configured two-factor authentication methods. As soon as all methods are disabled, two-factor authentication will no longer work for your account.

You can re-enable two-factor authentication by configuring one or more methods.

If you do not have access to your Rucenter account and to the device to which confirmation codes are sent:

In this case, access can be restored by an official letter:

  • for individuals and individual entrepreneurs (RTF).

The letter must be formatted on one page.

A copy of the individual's passport (pages 2-3, 5) must be attached to the letter.

Send us a copy of the letter.
