Internationalized Domain Names are domain names represented by native language characters. The native language domain name will be followed by .com or .net for example: домен.com.
To use an IDN to navigate to a Web site, the user types the IDN in the address bar of IDNA enabled browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox or special plug-in for other browsers.
Each Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) in COM, NET, ORG, CC, TV, NAME, TEL TLDs must be associated with a specific language. This information is called a "language tag". The language tag is used to identify the language of the IDN.
For example, if you are registering the IDN "домен.com", you would select "Russian" as the language because the IDN is in the Russian language.
The language must be selected during the registration process. Once the registration is completed, the language cannot be changed.
