Whois is often used to check availability of domains that may be of interest on the secondary market. The service shows the domain registration period, which is important when planning its possible takeover in case of non-renewal. Information about domain name queries in whois will make it possible to track third party interest in your domain name and may be an indication of your domain's value on the secondary market.
When the monitoring option is enabled, you will receive a monthly report on domain checks in Rucenter's Whois service.
The report is sent to the contact email address stated in the agreement settings. To enable the option:
- Select the Domains tab in the Active Services section on the main page of your user account:
- Select a domain
- Go to Security tab.
- Select the Monitoring of Whois queries option and click Enable.
To disable this option, on the domain page, click Disable in Monitoring of Whois queries in the Security tab.
