Online DNS Server Testing
Online testing of DNS servers is performed only over the IPv4 protocol and allows you to see the results in real time. To conduct testing, go to your personal account → Domains, select a domain and send a request from the DNS Testing page.
Testing procedure
By default, server names obtained from the DNS servers of the top-level domain are used. If necessary, test other DNS servers, change the list. In this case, DNS servers that have not passed any test are removed from the list.
DNS servers are tested in the following sequence:
- For each DNS server listed in the list, the IP address is found out: first via TCP, then via UDP protocol.
- Checks whether the specified DNS server name is a synonym (CNAME).
- For each DNS server specified in the application, an SOA record for this domain is requested from each of its IP addresses, first via TCP, then via UDP protocol. SOA records on all DNS servers must be identical, and the response must be authoritative.
- The correct spelling of the contact e-mail address in the SOA record is checked.
- The lists of DNS servers for the domain received from all DNS servers and the list specified in the domain application are compared. The DNS server lists must be identical.
