Why do your emails contain Cyrillic characters in the subject field? Isn't it against RFC?

When we tried to adjust the format of the subject field in our emails in accordance with RFC, overwhelming majority of our clients was against it. Hence we decided to continue using Cyrillic characters in the subject field.
