WinMTR — Network Diagnostics

The WinMTR utility allows you to:

  • display the route used to transmit traffic from your computer to the target host;
  • identify network nodes where latency or packet loss occurs.

You can download the latest version here:

Checking connection using WinMTR

  1. Run the program as Administrator by right-clicking the icon and selecting the appropriate option from the context menu.
  2. In the main window, click Options to open the program settings.

  3. In the window that opens, disable Resolve names.

  4. In the Host field, enter the domain name or IP address of the host you want to test.

  5. Click Start. After 2–3 minutes of operation, click Stop.

  6. Save the results to your computer by clicking Export TEXT.

The report contains the following fields:

  • Hostname — the IP address or domain name of the node. The value “No response from host” may indicate that ICMP packets are blocked on that node.
  • Nr — hop number in the route;
  • Loss % — percentage of lost replies from that node;
  • Sent — number of probes sent to the node;
  • Recv — number of replies received from the node;
  • Best — minimum (best) latency in milliseconds;
  • Avrg — average latency;
  • Worst — maximum (worst) latency;
  • Last — latency of the last received packet.

Send the exported report file to technical support. In your message, include your external IP address (you can find it at https://ip.nic.ru/).
