To obtain an AuthInfo code, the client needs to place an order for transferring a domain to another registrar in the profile in the “Operations → Domain Transfer → To another registrar (.ru and .рф domains)” section. The order is accepted only from the registrant. A maximum of 10 domains can be specified in one order for issuing an AuthInfo code.
When placing an order, the customer can choose one of the methods to receive the transfer code:
By default, the email and phone number specified in the registrant's data in the registry are used to change the registrar. The registrant can change this information before submitting an application for issuing an AuthInfo code. If the registrant already has active requests for a code or a valid code has been issued, changing the email address and phone number of the registrant required for the registrar change is prohibited.
If the registrant is an individual or an individual entrepreneur, he or she must have an ID. The individual entrepreneur must also provide one of the following documents:
If the registrant does not confirm the issuance of the AuthInfo code within 3 business days, the order will need to be re-issued.
After receiving the AuthInfo code, the registrant must contact the receiving registrar so that the registrar can initiate the transfer procedure in the registry.
Please note that the AuthInfo code is valid for 20 calendar days. If, at the time of expiration of the AuthInfo code, all actions necessary to initiate a transfer in the registry have not been completed, the procedure is terminated.
Registrar change procedure for .ru, .su and .рф domains is not carried out in the following cases:
• domain name registration expires in less than seven days;
• identification process has failed;
• judicial or prejudicial restraints have been imposed on the domain name;
• the registrant has failed to provide additional data within the specified timeframe at Rucenter's request;
• less than 30 days have passed after the registrant change;
• less than 30 days have passed after the registrar change.
If the transfer procedure has been initiated, then upon the occurrence of the above-mentioned events it is subject to termination.
Rucenter reserves the right to refuse to provide an AuthInfo code and to transfer domain in cases established by clause 9.4. of the Schedule.
To transfer a .net.ru, .org.ru, .pp.ru domain to another registrar, you need to provide the original version of the respective application to Rucenter.
Individuals and sole entrepreneurs can submit the original application:
The application must be notarized, unless the registrant personally delivers it to Rucenter office. In this case, the main ID will be enough.
A notarized application is valid for 3 months from the date of its signing and certification by a notary.
Rucenter reserves the right to request additional documents and information, including photographs confirming the will of the registrant and/or their identity.
1. Remove the block on domain transfer.
2. Get the registry authorization code (secret code). To get the code, send a request to tld-ncc@nic.ru specifying the domain and asking for a code to transfer the domain to another registrar. In response, you will be sent a link for authorization. After authorization, the code will be sent to your e-mail. If you have the Online Ownership Transfer service enabled, you can get the code in your profile. To do so:
3. Contact your new registrar to initiate the domain transfer.
Provide the new registrar with the registry authorization code. The new registrar initiates the domain transfer in the registry. The registry notifies Rucenter about the start of the domain transfer process, after which Rucenter sends a letter to the registrant's contact e-mail with information about the transfer. The letter also contains a link to cancel the transfer. If no cancellation is received from theregistrant within 3 calendar days, the transfer is completed automatically after 5 calendar days from the start of the transfer. After the transfer is complete, the domain name is deleted from the Rucenter database.
Please note:
If the delegation of a gTLD, foreign ccTLD, or New gTLD was terminated due to the expiration of the registration term, and then the registration term was renewed, it is recommended to initiate a registrar change no later than 45 days after the renewal. Otherwise, the year added to the registration term during the renewal by the previous registrar may be cancelled by the Registry, and after the registrar change procedure, the total domain registration term will be increased by only one year, not two.
Registrar change procedure for gTLDs and ccTLDs is not carried out in the following cases:
