Microsoft Outlook 2019

1. Open Outlook.

2. Enter your email address. In the Advanced settings (Дополнительные параметры) tab, select Manually configure my account (Настроить учетную запись вручную) and click Connect (Подключить):

3. . In the Advanced settings (Расширенная настройка) section, click the desired incoming mail protocol:

4. Fill in the following sections:

  • Incoming mail — enter the incoming mail server mail.nic.ru and port 143, and select the encryption type;
  • Outgoing mail — enter the outgoing mail server mail.nic.ru and port 587, and select the encryption type.

Then click Next (Далее):

6. Confirm your selection. To do this, click Finish (Готово).
 

Microsoft Outlook 2016

1. Open Outlook.
2. In the start window, click Next (Далее):

3. To set up an email account, select Yes (Да) and click Next (Далее):

4. Check Manual setup or additional server types (Ручная настройка или дополнительные типы серверов). Then click Next (Далее):

5. Select POP or IMAP and click Next (Далее):

6. Fill in the following sections:

  • User Information — enter your name and email address,
  • Server Information — select the receiving protocol, specify the incoming and outgoing mail server,
  • Login — enter your email address and password. If necessary, check Remember password (Запомнить пароль).

Then click Other Settings (Другие настройки):

7. In the Advanced (Дополнительно) tab, specify the ports for incoming and outgoing mail. Then click OK:

8. To verify the settings, click Next (Далее):

9. In the window that opens, verify your email address and password. Then click OK. This completes the setup.
 

Microsoft Outlook 2013

1. Launch Microsoft Outlook 2013, select File (Файл) in the top left menu, and then click Add Account (Добавить учетную запись). 

2. In the window that opens, select the Manual setup or additional server types (Ручная настройка или дополнительные типы серверов) check box and click Next (Далее).

3. Select the POP or IMAP protocol option and click Next (Далее).

4.In the window that appears, specify your mailbox settings.

  • In the Enter a name field, enter the name by which you will be seen by email recipients.
  • In the Email address field, enter your full email address, for example, mail@example.com.
  • From the Account type list, select the mail protocol:
    • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
    • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.
  • In the Incoming Mail Server (Сервер входящей почты) and Outgoing Mail Server (Сервер исходящей почты) (SMTP) fields, enter mail.nic.ru.
  • The Username (Пользователь) field must match the Email Address field (Адрес электронной почты)—it contains your full email address.

You can also enter a password for this mailbox and select the Remember password (Запомнить пароль) checkbox. Please note that storing passwords in your email client can lead to their theft and the use of your mailbox for illegal purposes.

After entering all the information, click the More settings (Другие настройки) button.

5. In the opened window, go to the Outgoing Mail Server (Сервер исходящей почты) tab. Check the "SMTP server requires authentication" (SMTP-серверу требуется проверка подлинности) box and select "Same as incoming mail server” (Аналогично серверу для входящей почты).

6. On the Advanced (Дополнительно) tab, specify the SSL encrypted connection type.
If your ISP blocks any ports, you can use alternative ones.
The following ports are available for connecting to the mail server:

  • IMAP: SSL encrypted connection - 993, unencrypted - 143
  • SMTP: SSL encrypted connection - 465, unencrypted - 587
  • POP3: SSL encrypted connection - 995, unencrypted - 110
     

7. Congratulations! You have successfully entered all the information required to create your account. To close the wizard and begin using your email, click Finish (Готово).


Microsoft Outlook 2010

Mozilla Thunderbird

1. Launch Mozilla Thunderbird. In the main program window, select Create an account → Email (Создать учетную запись → Электронная почта):

2. In the window that opens, select Skip this and use my existing email (Пропустить это и использовать мою существующую почту). 

3. In the Mail Account Setup (Настройка учетной записи почты) window that opens, enter your name, email address, and password. Click Continue (Продолжить).

4. The program will attempt to automatically configure the account. You must click Manual Setup (Настройка вручную) to enter the correct settings.

5. Adjust the account settings:

  • In the Incoming field, select the mail protocol:
    • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
    • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.
  • In the Server Name column for incoming and outgoing mail, enter mail.nic.ru.
  • Select the "SSL/TLS" encrypted connection type.


The Bat!

1. Launch The Bat!, select Account (Ящик) from the top menu, then click New (Новый почтовый ящик).

2. In the Create new (Создание нового почтового ящика) user account window that opens, enter a name for the mailbox, such as the mailbox address or your name. Click Next (Далее).

3. In the next step, enter your name, your mailbox address, and your organization. The name you enter here will appear in the headers of your outgoing messages. The Organisation (Организация) field can be left blank. Click Next (Далее).

4. In this window, select the mail protocol that best suits your needs:

  • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
  • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.

Specify mail.nic.ru as the server for incoming and outgoing mail.
Select the TLS/SSL encryption type.
Check the box next to "My SMTP server requires authorization (Мой сервер SMTP требует авторизации)."
Click Next (Далее).

5. Next, enter the full email address of your mailbox, for example: mail@example.com, and the password for the mailbox. Click Next (Далее).

6. If all the information is entered correctly, you'll be taken to the final screen of the Create new user account process (Создание нового почтового ящика). You’ll be prompted to review the remaining mailbox properties. Select Yes (Да) and click Finish (Готово). 

7. In the mailbox properties window that opens, go to the Transport (Транспорт) section. If your internet service provider blocks any ports, you can use alternative ones in the Transport tab.
The following ports are available for connecting to the mail server:

  • IMAP: SSL encrypted connection - 993, unencrypted - 143
  • SMTP: SSL encrypted connection - 465, unencrypted - 587
  • POP3: SSL encrypted connection - 995, unencrypted - 110

Next, click the Authentication (Аутентификация) button.

8.  In the window that opens, select SMTP Authentication (RFC-2554) and Use mail retrieval options (POP3/IMAP) (Использовать параметры получения почты (POP3/IMAP)). Click OK to apply the changes.


 

Windows Live

1. Launch Windows Live, select Accounts (Учетные записи) from the top menu, and then click Email Account (Учетная запись электронной почты).



2. In the window that opens, specify:

  • In the Email Address (Адрес электронной почты) field, enter your full email address, for example, email@example.com;
  • In the Display name in sent messages (Отображать имя в отправленных сообщениях) field, enter the name by which recipients will see you;

You can also enter a password for this mailbox and select the Remember password (Запомнить пароль) checkbox. Please note that storing passwords in your email client can lead to their theft and the use of your mailbox for illegal purposes.

Check the box next to "Manually configure server settings" and click Next (Далее).



3. In the window that appears, specify the server parameters:

  • From the Server Type (Тип сервера) list, select the most appropriate mail protocol:
    • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
    • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.
  • In the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server Address fields, enter mail.nic.ru;
  • In the Login Username field, enter the full name of your mailbox;
  • Check the Authentication Required box;
  • Check the Requires a secure connection box.

If your ISP blocks any ports, you can use alternative ones.
The following ports are available for connecting to the mail server:

  • IMAP: SSL encrypted connection - 993, unencrypted - 143
  • SMTP: SSL encrypted connection - 465, unencrypted - 587
  • POP3: SSL encrypted connection - 995, unencrypted - 110

After making changes, click Next.



4. You have successfully entered all the information required to create your account. To close the wizard and begin using your email, click Finish (Готово).



If you see a message about verifying the security certificate, just click Yes (Да).


 


Apple mail

1. Launch the Mail (Почта) app, select Mail from the top menu, and then click Add Account (Добавить учетную запись).



2. In the account provider selection window, select Another Mail account (Другая учетная запись почты).



3. In the window that appears, specify your mailbox settings:

  • In the Name (Имя) field, enter the name by which you will be seen by email recipients;
  • In the Email Address (Адрес email) field, enter your full email address, for example, mail@example.com;
  • Click the Login (Войти) button.




4. In the next window, you must specify additional details for connecting to the mail server:

  • From the Account type list (Тип учетной записи), select the mail protocol:
    • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
    • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.
  • In the Incoming mail server (Сервер входящей почты) and Outgoing mail server (Сервер исходящей почты) fields, enter the address mail.nic.ru;
  • Click the Login button.




5. Select the programs that will use this account and click Done (Готово).



6. In the top menu, select Mail (Почта), then click Settings (Настройки).



7. Select the Server Settings (Настройки сервера) tab.



8. Uncheck Configure connection settings automatically (Настроить параметры подключения автоматически). Then check Use TLS/SSL (Использовать TLS/SSL). Specify port 993 for IMAP and port 465 for SMTP. Click Save (Сохранить).
If your ISP blocks any ports, you can use alternative ones.
The following ports are available for connecting to the mail server:

  • IMAP: SSL encrypted connection - 993, unencrypted - 143
  • SMTP: SSL encrypted connection - 465, unencrypted - 587
  • POP3: SSL encrypted connection - 995, unencrypted - 110


IPad и IPhone mail

1. Go to the Settings (Настройки) menu.
2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars (Почта, Адреса, Календари) and click Add Account (Добавить аккаунт).



In the menu that opens, select Other (Другое).



3. Click New Account (Новая учетная запись).



In the dialog box that opens, enter your name, the email address for which you are setting up the account, and the password for that email account. Click Next (Далее).



4. Choose the email protocol that is most convenient for you:

  • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
  • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.

For working with email on a smartphone or tablet, we recommend selecting IMAP.
In the Hostname field, enter mail.nic.ru as the incoming and outgoing mail server.
In the Username field, enter the full name of your mailbox.
In the Password field, enter the password for your mailbox.

After making your changes, click Next (Далее) or Save (Сохранить).



5. If you select IMAP, in the final window you can choose which data to sync in your mailbox. In addition to email, you can sync notes.



To start using email, launch the Mail app.


Аndroid Mail

1. Launch the Email app. In the first setup window, enter the full name of your email account and its password.
Next, click the Manual (Вручную) button.



2.  Choose the email protocol that is most convenient for you:

  • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
  • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.

For working with email on a smartphone or tablet, we recommend selecting IMAP.



3. In the incoming mail settings window that opens, specify the following:

  • In the Username field, enter the name of your mailbox.
  • In the Password field, enter the password for your mailbox.
  • In the Server field, enter mail.nic.ru
  • In the Port field, enter 993
  • In the Security Type field, select "SSL/TLS (accept all certificates)"

You do not need to change any other settings.
After making your changes, click Next (Далее).



4. In the outgoing mail settings window that opens, specify the following:

  • In the SMTP Server field, enter mail.nic.ru
  • In the Port field, enter 465
  • In the Security Type field, select "SSL/TLS (accept all certificates)”
  • Check the box next to Log me on (Выполнять вход в систему)
  • In the Username field, enter the name of your mailbox.
  • In the Password field, enter the password for your mailbox.

You do not need to change any other settings.
After making your changes, click Next.



5. Specify the desired email checking frequency.
If necessary, select additional sync and checking options and click Next.



6. Congratulations! Your mail has been successfully configured. If necessary, specify the account name and the name for outgoing emails.


 


Windows Phone mail

1. Go to Settings (Настройки) and go to Mail + Accounts (Почта + учетные записи).



2. Tap Add Service (Добавить службу).



3. From the list of available services, select Advanced (Дополнительно).



4.  In the Mailing Address field, enter the full name of your mailbox. In the Password (Пароль) field, enter the password for your mailbox.
After entering the information, tap Next (Далее).



5. Select Internet Mail (Интернет-почта).



6. In the Account Name (Имя учетной записи) field, enter the name of your mailbox. In the Incoming Mail Server (Сервер входящей почты) field, enter mail.nic.ru.
In the Account Type (Тип учетной записи) field, select the mail protocol that best suits your needs:

  • IMAP – all mail is stored on the server. Select IMAP if you plan to access mail from multiple devices and through a web interface.
  • POP3 – mail is downloaded from the mail server. Select POP3 if you plan to access email from only one device.

For working with email on a smartphone or tablet, we recommend selecting IMAP.



In the Username (Имя пользователя) field, enter the full name of your mailbox, and in the Password field, enter the password for this mailbox.



In the Outgoing Mail Server (Сервер исходящей почты) field, enter mail.nic.ru.
Check the boxes for Outgoing mail server requires authentication (Сервер исходящей почты требует проверку подлинности) and Use the same username and password for sending (Использовать то же имя пользователя и пароль для отправки).



By clicking the Advanced Settings (Дополнительные настройки) button, you can enable an encrypted SSL connection when sending and receiving mail:



After entering all the settings, click the Login button.
